Automatic Dimensioning ~ Holes

Circles in a machinery drawings usually mean varied holes such as through holes, screw holes, pinholes, and counterbores etc. Only labeling their geometry features and positions is not suitable for engineering drawings. It is better to label their physical meanings (what kinds of holes they are). In the following, how Adaucogit Salt tools label these holes in AutoCAD software will be demonstrated.

In the below picture, varied holes which include through holes, screw holes, pinholes, and counterbores are annotated by Salt automatic dimensioning and Salt automatic leader.

For example, let us focus on the three through holes at right-bottom comer. The diameters of them are 7.00 mm.
  1. The base point is at left-bottom corner.
  2. The x-position of the first hole is 80.00 mm. The distance between these holes is 12.00 mm, and all y-positions are 8.00 mm.
  3. Because the geometries of these three holes are identical, they are annotated continuously.
  4. In the other hand, label their physical meanings by using Salt automatic leader function. In this case, the function identified that they are three holes and their diameters are 7.00mm.
By the same way, you will find that other identical geometries such as counterbores and screw holes are all identified automatically by Salt automatic leader function.
