Settings of Automatic Dimensioning ~ Chamfer Distance

In a previous article, Chamfer Handling of Adaucogit Salt Automatic Dimensioning, we know that Salt has ability to identify global chamfers. In this article, we will introduce this feature with more detail.
There is an option called “Not dimensioned chamfer distance (less than or equal to) ” regarding chamfer in Salt automatic dimensioning function. (as shown below) The default value is “Auto”, and it means that the program will determine which chamfers are global chamfers and ignore them automatically.

It is also allowed to input a value by users, and the program will ignore chamfers whose chamfer distances are less than or equal to the value.

If there are varied sizes of chamfers in a drawing, the program will record them. For example, there are three sizes of chamfers in the below drawing.

The program determined these three sizes of chamfers and recorded them as options.

Auto-dimension the drawing:
1. Choose option “Auto”

The automatic dimensioning function ignored these chamfers.

Use Salt automatic leader to describe them.

2. Choose option “2.00”

The program only dimensioned the chamfers whose chamfer distances are 3.00 (red below) and ignored the chamfers whose chamfer distances are 1.00 and 2.00.

Label the ignored chamfers by using Salt automatic leader.

P.S. As we mentioned in the previous article, it is better to describe global chamfers by text or leaders.
